Things to Do on Your Trip to Southeast Asia

Swim in the Kouang Si waterfall near Louang Phabang, Laos

https://www.lasetrips.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/wart.jpg
laosbackpackershostel.com

Taking a day trip to this fascinating waterfall from Louang Phabang will be worth your time. Make sure that you bring a camera so that you take some of the memories with you as you leave. The Si waterfall is breathtaking; there’s a series of turquoise pools beneath a forest area of concealed falls and miniature streams. It’ll be easy and more convenient if you just hire a tuk tuk driver for the entire day from the town. Also, buy food from the vendors by the roadside as you head up to the falls. There are several picnic areas nearby the lower, more accessible, pools. However, if you decide to be more adventurous try hiking off the paths slightly to discover your own hidden pools or waterfalls. Enjoy spending your day as you jump off waterfalls and swim in the stunning Laos countryside.

Cindy Crawford's Relationship With Her Model Daughter Is So Close, They "Text Every Day"

When it comes to Cindy Crawford and her two kids, the apples didn't fall far from the tree. Presley and Kaia Gerber have made names for themselves as It models and have even starred in a Calvin Klein campaign together. Of course, this dynamic duo just happen to be blessed with incredible genes, and as the kids of Cindy, well, that opens a lot of doors. In the May issue of Town & Country, Cindy reflected on what it's like raising two young models and acknowledged that she has an especially close relationship with her daughter.

The two communicate every day (here's a gentle reminder to text your own mom!). Cindy's also focused on raising her children with moral values and having them feel empowered to make their own choices. In fact, when it got to talking about the #MeToo movement in the industry, which Cindy said she was "lucky" she doesn't have a story about, she showed off her protective motherly side. The supermodel said she wants her kids to stand up for themselves, and if anyone ever tries to take advantage of Presley or Kaia, Cindy "will come after" them. We trust her on her words. Read on to see what else Cindy said in her interview, then check out Kaia's journey as a model.

Why Princess Charlotte Is Attending a Different Nursery School Than Her Brother Prince George

The Cheat Sheet Michelle Kapusta,The Cheat Sheet

http://s9.uploads.ru/t/fcIze.png
Back in September, Prince George headed off for his first day of elementary school and just four months later, his little sister, Princess Charlotte, had that big milestone of starting school. We’ve got plenty of details about the young royal’s first day at Willcocks Nursery School, and the answer to the question everyone wants to know: Why Princess Charlotte went to a different school than the Westacre Montessori School her big brother attended? Kensington Palace shared pictures from Charlotte’s first day Just like with Prince George, Kensington Palace shared some photos taken by Kate Middleton of Princess Charlotte on her first day of nursery school and she looked absolutely adorable.

The princess was wearing a burgundy coat, gray tights, Mary Janes, and a pale pink scarf with a backpack of the same of the color — all of which are sure to sell out online..

How Princess Charlotte Will Shake Up Royal History When Her New Sibling Arrives
Alicia Brunker,InStyle

The line for the royal throne may be a long one for Kate Middleton and Prince William's children, but, at least, Princess Charlotte's position won't be affected with the arrival of the couple's third baby.

She can thank the Succession to the Crown Act 2013, because for the first time ever, a female royal's spot won't be altered by the birth of a male. According to the new legislation—which was passed when Kate Middleton was pregnant with Prince George—birth order, rather than gender, determines the next king or queen of England.
http://sd.uploads.ru/t/zfPby.jpg
Therefore, even if the third royal baby is a boy, he will have to wait his turn, directly behind the 2-year-old, to become king. The history-making motion also allows those arising from a marriage to a Roman Catholic to remain in the running—something that previously disqualified a budding royal.
http://sg.uploads.ru/t/ANdq8.jpg
However, that's not to say that Charlotte doesn't have quite a few years—possibly a lifetime–to wait until she will see her day as queen. Currently, Prince Charles, Prince William's father, will inherit the throne after Queen Elizabeth passes away. Respectively, Prince William is second, and then comes his children, Prince George (third) and Princess Charlotte (fourth).

Prince Harry's days in the fifth spot are limited, with the third royal baby due any day now. Once he or she is born, Harry will move down to sixth in line. In a universe that confuses most people with its traditions, things just got a whole lot less complicated.

Here’s Where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Might Spend Their Honeymoon — And How Much It Will Cost

http://s5.uploads.ru/t/UhKzp.jpg
Prince Harry and the soon-to-be Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales will be far overdue for a private honeymoon after they exchange vows on May 19, 2018. After all, so much time in the public eye calls for some much-needed rest and relaxation. But where will this royal honeymoon take place?

Indicators suggest a few locations that are likely at the top of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s list of destinations. Here’s where the royal couple might spend their honeymoon.

1. A Seychelles sojourn like Will and Kate
http://s4.uploads.ru/t/QpNuJ.jpg

    Cost of trip: $110,000

The North Island of Seychelles is considered the most exclusive of them all. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Seychelles details remain largely under wraps, but one thing is certain — privacy was key. An average villa on the North Island runs anywhere from $8,000 to $10,000 per night, making a 10-day getaway quite pricey. Luckily, first-class airfare from London runs a paltry $5,000 per person.

2. Follow the global voyage of Pippa and James

https://www.cheatsheet.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/private-island-of-Tetiaroa.jpg

    Cost of trip: $155,000

When royal sister-in-law Pippa Middleton and her groom James Matthews embarked on their honeymoon, they took it to the next level. First, a visit to Tetiaroa Island in French Polynesia, then a stopover in Australia, followed by a foray to the Pacific Islands. The happy couple ended their honeymoon with a stay at Matthews’ family home in the Scottish Highlands.

Next: They may take it back to where it all began.

3. The two may choose to recreate their Botswana memories
https://www.cheatsheet.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/botswana-safari.jpg

    Cost of trip: $25,000

Botswana and the Meno a Kwena Safari Retreat hold a special place for Prince Harry and Markle. The two escaped to this raw African wilderness after only two dates in London. If the two decide to venture back for a week-long getaway to the $890-per-night retreat, they’ll certainly rekindle memories of their early days falling in love. Oh, and first-class airfare to get there runs a cool $8,000 per person.

4. Petit St. Vincent to get away from it all
https://www.cheatsheet.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Saint-Vincent-and-the-Grenadines.jpg
The royal couple may visit the Grenadines. | happytrip/iStock /Getty Images Plus

    Cost of trip: $32,000

The private island of Petit St. Vincent received a major facelift back in 2011 and is considered one of the most exclusive islands of the Grenadines. It’s unlikely the newlyweds would buy out the entire island for $27,000 per night, but they certainly could opt for a private, secluded villa for $2,000 per night. With only 22 villas on the island, this is an impressively affordable option for the couple. First class airfare, however, will cost at least $6,000 each.

Next: A sailing trip may be on the horizon.

5. Sailing around the British Virgin Islands
https://www.cheatsheet.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tropical-shoreline-in-British-Virgin-Island.jpg
Sailing around the British Virgin Islands could be another option. | iStock.com/ Guido Amrein

    Cost of trip: $30,000

Few getaways are more romantic than a chartered sailing trip for two around the British Virgin Islands. The 10-day excursion comes complete with a private chef and plenty of privacy. A trip like this could be once-in-a-lifetime for the newlyweds.

Signs Pippa and Kate Middleton’s Relationship Isn’t as Royalty-Proof as Everyone Thinks

http://s8.uploads.ru/t/gM7m2.jpg
Pippa Middleton first made headlines when she wore that unforgettable white dress to sister Kate Middleton’s 2011 royal wedding. Since then, the two have been spotted together many times. But their relationship might not be as close as it seems, and it’s definitely not as close as it once was. The two sisters were extremely close growing up Kate and Pippa Middleton are less than two years apart. Growing up, the sisters were best friends. The girls grew up with their parents and brother and spent nearly every day together — the two were also very close with their younger brother, James Middleton. Kate has said that she wants to recreate the family dynamic she had while growing up and have a big, close-knit family. However, royalty can get in the way of close family relationships.

Pippa stole the show at Kate’s wedding

It was no secret that Pippa turned heads at William and Kate’s 2011 wedding. Pippa, then 27, nearly crashed Twitter when she showed up in a white dress with a neckline that didn’t seem fit for a royal wedding. The following day, there was just as much news about Pippa as there was about William and Kate. Although Kate didn’t have much to say about her sister overshadowing her big day, we’d like to think she probably wished she’d chosen a different outfit for her maid of honor.

… And Kate didn’t want the same for her sister

https://www.cheatsheet.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Prince-George-and-Princess-Charlotte.png

When Pippa tied the knot with now-husband James Matthews in 2017, Kate did not play a role in her wedding. Why? Because the Duchess of Cambridge didn’t want to steal the spotlight on her sister’s big day. Instead, Kate decided she wanted to be in the background as much as possible, and only Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be in Pippa’s wedding. Perhaps that’s because Kate knows what it felt like to have someone else steal the limelight at your wedding.

There were rumors about Kate being annoyed with her sister’s engagement
http://sg.uploads.ru/t/Bilt8.jpg

Multiple reports came out after Pippa’s engagement that claimed Kate was not happy with Pippa’s “wild” fiancé. Reports also claimed that Pippa was sick of Kate’s judgmental attitude, and the two were not getting along since Pippa’s big news. However, William and Kate did release a statement saying they were very happy for Kate’s sister. While the royals always show proper poise and respect, it’s unclear if they released the statement just to avoid the publicized drama, or if they were actually perfectly fine with Pippa tying the knot.

They don’t see each other that often

Kate is a royal. Royals have things to do. As a result, Kate and Pippa don’t spend as much time together as they used to. When Kate married into the royal family, she gave up any hope of a normal life — which included normal hangouts with her younger sister. The two can’t wander into a coffee shop together without everyone turning heads. They can’t go on a shopping date anymore without tight-knit security. Spending carefree time with one another is a thing of the past, and those strict rules are bound to have some kind of impact on anyone.

The royal family has a different way of life

Pippa Middleton’s career plans were put on hold by her sister’s new family. E! Online reported that when Pippa wanted a career in television, she was “reined in” by her brother-in-law, who wasn’t happy with the wave of attention Pippa received at his wedding. A friend of Pippa’s told The Daily Mail, “It was felt by William in particular that she needed some guidance and support.” When Pippa had to be told how to live by her sister’s new husband’s standards, it likely caused some tension in the sisterly relationship.

Kids always make things more complicated

This goes for any relationship. Once kids are thrown into the mix, it becomes even harder to maintain a close relationship with your siblings. Especially since Kate’s kids happen to be a prince and princess. It’s possible that when Pippa and her new husband decide to have a baby, the families can have play dates all day every day. However, with Kate trying to raise two little ones (and soon to be more), and royal little ones nonetheless, it’s easy to drift from those who used to know you best.

Meghan Markle
http://sg.uploads.ru/t/0ihmv.jpg
Kate and Meghan Markle have met many times, and Prince Harry’s future wife has also spent time with Kate and William’s children. Considering Kate’s affinity for her brother-in-law it’s no surprise sources say she defended her future sister-in-law as the media reported about Markle’s previous divorce and sometimes-racy career.

Royal protocol doesn’t allow for a best man or maid of honor at royal weddings, but Prince William broke this rule when Harry was his best man in 2011. Many believe Harry will return the favor — and Kate could be Markle’s matron of honor.

Princess Eugenie

Royal relation to Kate: cousin-in-law

The media noticed awkward dynamics between Princess Eugenie and Kate early on. But things seem better in recent years. Of course, Eugenie remains most loyal to her sister, Princess Beatrice (more on that drama later). But Eugenie is reportedly on good terms with the whole family, especially Princes William and Harry.

In January 2017, Buckingham Palace announced Eugenie’s engagement to long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank. Both the royal family and her fiancé’s family expressed delight over the upcoming nuptials. It seems the princess has a future of her own to focus on.

Royal relation to Kate: cousin-in-law

Sarah, Duchess of York (commonly known as Fergie) has long caused a rift in the royal family. So much so that it created tension between her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, and the rest of the royal family. Many believe this rift translated to the girls not liking Kate — although Eugenie seems to have warmed up to her cousin-in-law.

Princess Beatrice is reportedly quite icy toward Kate, feeling sidelined due to Kate’s place and popularity in the royal family, especially with her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. The feud between the two women regularly steals headlines.

Lady Louise of Windsor

Royal relation to Kate: cousin-in-law

Daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Lady Louise caught the public’s attention when she served as one of Kate’s adorable bridesmaids in 2011. Since then, Louise and Kate have enjoyed many public outings together. Despite their age difference (Louise is 14 and Kate is 36), the queen’s granddaughters get along swimmingly. They’re often seen chatting and laughing while representing the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth II

Royal relation to Kate: grandmother-in-law

Some relatives seem to have a problem with the attention Kate Middleton receives. It’s not surprising because she clearly maintains one of the best relationships with Queen Elizabeth. Kate reportedly dated Prince William for a while before meeting the queen for the first time at Peter and Autumn Phillips’ wedding. She and her royal grandmother have only grown closer since then.

Royal baby: When is Kate Middleton due?

http://s3.uploads.ru/t/JnQsH.jpg
The royal baby is almost here!

Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is currently expecting her third baby with husband Prince William, and she's due to give birth this month after having started her maternity leave at the end of March.

Though there's no official due date known to the public, royals experts estimate that Kate is due to welcome her third child in late April, as the palace announced her pregnancy on October 17, 2017, presumably after a common 12-week scan.

There's a chance that William and Kate's third child -- whose gender will remain unknown until it's announced by the palace after its birth -- could arrive on their seventh wedding anniversary, which is April 29. It could also come on St. George's Day, which is April 23.

Of course, there's no telling when any baby will actually arrive, but one indication that they royal family is expecting Kate to give birth before the end of the month? The parking restrictions that were put up on Monday, April 9 outside of the private Lindo Wing, where she delivered her first two children and plans on delivering her third. Those permits expire on April 30, though they're able to be extended, as they were when she welcomed Princess Charlotte.

Kate Middleton made her last official royal outing on March 22, during a visit to the Olympic Park. She was seen just over a week later on Easter alongside William and Queen Elizabeth.

Kate Middleton and Prince William already share Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2.

Everything you need to know about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding

President Trump, Theresa May not invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding

Political leaders from the U.K. and abroad will not be attending Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming wedding ceremony, Kensington Palace announced today.

The announcement puts to rest speculation that President Donald Trump could be among the 600 guests at Markle and Harry’s May 19 wedding at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

https://s.yimg.com/lo/api/res/1.2/QMjKfUWNR7jNfvsUC1IMhw--/YXBwaWQ9eW15O3c9NjA4O3E9NzU7c209MTtpbD1wbGFuZQ--/https://s.abcnews.com/images/Politics/GTY-Trump-May-G20-hb-170711_16x9_608.jpg
U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May is also among the leaders who will not be invited.

Harry traveled to Chicago, the Obamas’ hometown, in October for the Inaugural Summit of the Obama Foundation.
Former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama also won’t be attending the wedding at Windsor Castle.
It is unclear whether the Obamas had received an invitation to attend but declined to avoid a political distraction.

A source told ABC News, “President and Mrs. Obama are not coming to the wedding but the couples look forward to seeing each other soon."

Harry, 33, has developed a bond with the Obamas, who were early supporters of the Invictus Games, the Paralympics-style sporting event he founded in 2016.

Harry's brother, Prince William, and his wife, Princess Kate, had a handful of British politicians in attendance at their wedding in 2011, including then-Prime Minister David Cameron.

Prince Harry is fifth in line to the throne, while William, 35, is second in line, behind the brothers' father, Prince Charles. Harry and Markle's wedding is not a state occasion, like it was when William and Kate were married in 2011 at Westminster Abbey.

It is also unclear if Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Sophie Trudeau -- who are personal friends of Harry and Markle and have known Markle for many years in Toronto -- may be invited to the wedding or reception. Kensington Palace declined to comment.

Harry and Markle have invited 600 guests to their wedding ceremony and a lunchtime reception at St. George's Hall, Kensington Palace announced last month.
In the evening, a smaller group of 200 of the couple's closest friends and family is being invited to a reception hosted by Prince Charles at Frogmore House.

Zuckerberg hedges on how Facebook tracks you

Some questions about Facebook are too tricky for its chief executive to answer.

In an extraordinary exchange during Tuesday’s testimony before Congress, Mark Zuckerberg hedged on whether the company tracked its users across devices, even when they may not be logged into the social media platform.

Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., asked Facebook’s founder and CEO whether the company collected “user data through cross-device tracking.”

“Senator, I believe we do link people’s accounts between devices, in order to make sure that their Facebook, Instagram and other experiences can be synced between devices.” Zuckerberg said.

Blunt followed up, asking if that included “offline data, data tracking that’s not necessarily linked to Facebook.”

“Senator, I want to make sure that we get this right, so I’m going to have my team follow up with you on this afterwards,” Zuckerberg responded.

“That doesn’t seem that complicated to me,” Blunt responded. “Now you understand this better than I do, but maybe you can explain to me why that’s that complicated. Do you track devices that an individual who uses Facebook has, that is connected to the device that they use for their Facebook connection but not necessarily connected to Facebook?”

“I’m not sure of the answer to that question,”

Zuckerberg said.

Pressure has increased for the company to explain its terms of service and data gathering operations since details about the company’s 2016 election cooperation with Cambridge Analytica have become public, and the bulk of Tuesday’s session was devoted to questions about privacy.

In an article published last week by the American Civil Liberties Union, senior staff technologist Daniel Kahn Gillmor argued that Facebook was tracking him even though he wasn’t a member of the social network.

“While I’ve never ‘opted in’ to Facebook or any of the other big social networks, Facebook still has a detailed profile that can be used to target me,” Gillmor wrote. “I’ve never consented to having Facebook collect my data, which can be used to draw very detailed inferences about my life, my habits, and my relationships. As we aim to take Facebook to task for its breach of user trust, we need to think about what its capabilities imply for society overall. After all, if you do #deleteFacebook, you’ll find yourself in my shoes: non-consenting, but still subject to Facebook’s globe-spanning surveillance and targeting network.”

At Tuesday’s hearing, Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., turned the tables on Zuckerberg, asking whether the Facebook founder would be comfortable sharing the name of the hotel where he stayed in Washington the night before.

“No, I would probably not choose to do that publicly here,” Zuckerberg responded.

“I think that may be what this is all about,” Durbin replied. “Your right to privacy. The limits of your right to privacy and how much you give away in modern America in the name of ‘connecting people around the world.’”

Prince Philip's Hip Surgery Was Successful

http://sg.uploads.ru/t/zQ1no.jpg
Prince Philip has left the hospital following a successful hip replacement. Per a statement from Buckingham Palace, "Prince Philip left King Edward VII’s Hospital at midday today, following a hip replacement operation last week. He will continue his recovery at Windsor. His Royal Highness would like to convey his appreciation for the messages of good wishes he has received."

On April 4, it was announced that the procedure had been successful. "The Duke of Edinburgh has undergone a successful hip replacement operation," reads a statement from the Palace. "He is progressing satisfactorily at this early stage. His Royal Highness is likely to remain in hospital for several days. He is comfortable and in good spirits."

Philip was admitted to King Edward VII hospital in central London on April 3 for the planned procedure.

The Duke of Edinburgh, 96, has been under the weather for weeks, and missed appearances at both Maundy Thursday and Easter church services due to issues with his health.

At this point, it is unclear if he will miss any upcoming events, as the royal family has a busy spring.

The Queen's 92nd birthday celebration will be later this month.
Additionally, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's third child is due in April, and, of course.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding is on May 19.

Prince Philip's health was reportedly the reason for Harry and Meghan's short engagement.

"[Prince Harry] wanted something close to home for the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen," royal expert Kate Nicholl told ET.

"In fact, one of the reasons that Prince Harry has wanted this wedding to happen quite quickly-this is really whirlwind by royal standards-is because his 96-year-old grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, is retired now and Prince Harry really wants him to be at his wedding."

Update 13 April: The Duke of Edinburgh has been discharged from hospital following a successful hip replacement operation.

Prince Philip, 96, was admitted to in London on 3 April. He will now continue his recovery at Windsor, Buckingham Palace confirmed.

A statement from the Palace said: 'His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh left King Edward VII's Hospital at midday today, following a hip replacement operation last week.

'His Royal Highness would like to convey his appreciation for the messages of good wishes he has received.'

The duke's daughter, Princess Anne, told reporters that her father was 'on good form' following a visit to the hospital on Thursday.

Original story 4 April: The Duke of Edinburgh has been admitted to hospital for a planned operation, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.

Prince Philip was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in London's Marylebone this afternoon [3 April], for planned surgery on his hip which will take place tomorrow [4 April].

The palace added that they will release more details when appropriate.

The 96-year-old royal was notably absent from Sunday's Easter church service at St George's Chapel in Windsor, which was led by the Queen.

Philip also missed the Maundy Money service last Thursday, which is an Easter tradition that features Her Majesty distributing small silver coins.

He was absent from Prince Andrew's introduction to the role of Colonel of the Grenadier Guards the week before, although it's not known whether he had planned to attend the event.

Philip announced his retirement from public duties 'with the full support' of the Queen last year. He has carried out 22,191 solo engagements since 1952, and had 110 days of engagements in 2016 alone, according to the BBC.

The Duke is involved with over 780 organisations, with which he'll continue to be associated. His best-known achievement may be founding the Duke of Edinburgh Award in 1956, a highly-acclaimed youth achievement award that operates in over 140 countries worldwide.

The Duke is the longest-living consort (spouse of a sovereign) in British history. He and the Queen have been married for 77 years.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also missed the Easter Sunday service at St George's chapel, where they will marry on May 19.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived slightly later than scheduled, breaking royal protocol by turning up after the Queen.

Princess Beatrice and Jack Brooksbank marked their first royal event following their engagement announcement, and will also be exchanging vows at St George's chapel when they marry in October.

The Royal Rule That Keeps Prince Philip From Being a King

http://s7.uploads.ru/t/4kjOI.jpg
Prince Philip became a member of the British royal family when he married then-Princess Elizabeth in November 1947. Born Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark, he gave up his titles on their wedding day and was instead named Duke of Edinburgh. When Elizabeth became queen after the death of her father in 1952, Philip did not become a king — and there's a longstanding rule that explains why. In the UK, the husband of a reigning queen is called a prince consort, no matter what. Queen Victoria, who reigned from 1837 to 1901, wanted to make her husband, Albert, king consort, but the British government wouldn't allow it because he was technically a foreigner. Instead, he was given the title of prince consort. Technically, there is no automatic right to any title when marrying a monarch; it wasn't until five years after her succession to the throne that Elizabeth II made Philip a prince of the United Kingdom, and he has never formally been designated a prince or king consort title, which is purely symbolic anyway.

On the flip side, the wife of a king normally gets the title of queen, but it too is only ceremonial; Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon, the Queen Mother, became queen consort when George VI became king, and the same rule goes for Kate Middleton, who will also earn the title when Prince William becomes king. An exception to this will be made when Prince Charles takes the throne, as Clarence House announced after their wedding that his wife, Camilla, will be known as princess consort, saying, "It is intended that Mrs. Parker Bowles should use the title HRH The Princess Consort when The Prince of Wales accedes to The Throne." However, when the time comes, Charles will have the power to upgrade her title to queen consort if he so chooses. And here's another plot twist: should Prince Philip outlive his wife and see his son Charles become king, he would be able to retain the style "his majesty" and could also be given the title king father, like that of the Queen Mother when Elizabeth II took the throne.

Another Royal Wedding: Every Detail We Know About Princess Eugenie’s Engagement

http://sg.uploads.ru/t/Xd4S2.png

There is another royal wedding in the works! Less than two months after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement, news broke that another member of the royal family will also be tying the knot this year. Princess Eugenie got engaged to her longtime beau, Jack Brooksbank. The announcement came from Buckingham Palace on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018. The princess is not as well known as her cousins Princes William and Harry so here are a few details about the royal, her engagement, and what we know about her upcoming nuptials.

Who is Princess Eugenie?
http://s3.uploads.ru/t/0tnby.jpg

For those of you who need to brush up on the royal family tree, Eugenie is one of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s grandchildren. She is the daughter of Prince Charles’ brother, Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife, the Duchess of York Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson. Her official title is Princess Eugenie of York and she has one older sister, Princess Beatrice of York.
Prior to the birth of Princess Charlotte in 2015, Beatrice and Eugenie were the highest-ranking females in the line of succession to the British throne.

When the couple got engaged

The princess and her fiancé, Jack Brooksbank, started dating in 2010 after they met during a ski trip in the Swiss resort of Verbier. Brooksbank previously managed the club Mahiki, which is frequented by the rich and famous. He is now the U.K. ambassador for Casamigos, the tequila company co-founded by George Clooney.
Brooksbank proposed to Eugenie in early January while the two were vacationing in Nicaragua. Once they are husband and wife, the princess will keep her royal title and will have the option to take his surname.

Not long after the news that they will be married was announced, the pair released their official engagement portraits, which were taken in the Picture Gallery at Buckingham Palace.
The bride-to-be wore a floral dress by Erdem and Jimmy Choo shoes. She also showed off her gorgeous sparkler.

The ring is a blush-colored padparadscha sapphire with several diamonds around the center stone. As you can see in this photo, the princess’ ring on the left is very similar to the ring her father gave her mother when they go engaged.
The ring also reminds us of the one that belonged to Princess Diana’s and is now worn by the Duchess of Cambridge. That ring is of course another beautiful sapphire surrounded by diamonds.

Where the wedding will take place

We also know where the couple will be saying their vows. The Princess and Brooksbank will wed at St. George’s Chapel, which is the same place where Prince Harry and Markle will be married.
“The wedding will take place in the Autumn of 2018 at George’s Chapel in Windsor, with further details to be announced in due course,” a statement from the Palace read.

Prince Harry and Markle will not be the only royals getting married in 2018, as Eugenie and Brooksbank will also be getting married this year. Harry’s wedding will take place on May 19, while Eugenie and Brooksbank’s nuptials will be five months later on Oct. 12, 2018.
This year is shaping up to be a big one for the royals as they will be planning two weddings and awaiting the arrival of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s third child due in April. Another granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, Zara Tindall, is expecting a baby in 2018 as well.

The engagement announcement was followed by congratulatory messages and thrilled reactions from the British royals and Brooksbank’s family. “We could not be more delighted with the news of the engagement,” said Nicola and George Brooksbank, adding that they were “completely over the moon” and “very excited” for the couple.
Fergie congratulated her daughter and Brooksbank in a series of tweets and said hearing the news was “a total joy” for her. Her ex-husband also expressed how happy he was for their daughter via Twitter writing that he was “overjoyed” and “thrilled.”
England’s Prime Minister, Theresa May offered them her “very best wishes.” And, a Palace spokesperson said Queen Elizabeth and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh were “very pleased and wish the couple all the best.”
