Meghan Markle and Queen Elizabeth are the internet's new royal power couple

Well, Prince Harry, you had a good run, but someone may have replaced you in Meghan Markle‘s affections.

The new Duchess of Sussex kicked off her royal duties Thursday by being Queen Elizabeth II‘s plus-one for an official visit to Cheshire, England.

It marked the newlywed’s first joint appearance with the queen, a courtesy that was also extended to Kate Middleton about a year after her 2011 wedding to Prince William.

Wearing an off-white, custom Givenchy dress and a jazzy lime green ensemble, respectively, the royals appeared to be hitting it off as they greeted well-wishers and opened the Mersey Gateway Bridge. And according to royal correspondent Emily Andrews, Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the duchess’s earrings are a gift from her new grandmother-in-law.

Lovely photos from @PA of #PrinceCharles and #Camilla #DuchessofCornwall on the beach in County Kerry Ireland.
The Prince of Wales has been an advocate of reducing plastics that harm our oceans

"The nightmare result of eight million tonnes of plastic entering the ocean every year is set to get worse rather than better,"

he said at a meeting of environmentalists at the British Academy in London in January.

"We cannot, indeed must not, allow this situation to continue."

Who says the royals have to be prim and proper all the time?
Earlier today, Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall kicked off her shoes and walked along Derrynane Beach in County Kerry with her husband Prince Charles.

In the photos, it's unclear if she was fully barefoot, or padding around the beach with her stockings on, but we'd prefer to think she had the sand between her toes this morning.
As reporter Carolyn Durand pointed out, the Prince of Wales is quite passionate about the ocean, and a supporter or reducing the amount of plastics that make it into the water.

Charles and Camilla are currently on a royal tour of both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. They started started their trip in Northern Ireland earlier this week, where they visited a memorial garden dedicated to the victims of the 1998 Omagh car bomb, spent a few hours in a local woodshop, and toured a new hospital facility.

During the Republic of Ireland portion of the trip, Charles and Camilla have visited the English Market in Cork (learn you how you, too, can visit the famous trading center here) and Muckross House, a historic home in Killarney National Park.

Prince Charles, wife on two-day visit in Ireland

http://s5.uploads.ru/t/er4EX.jpg

Heir to the British throne Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, are on a two-day visit in Ireland, reported local media RTE.

The royal couple arrived in Ireland on Thursday morning and paid a visit to the country's southern city of Cork under the company of the Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Simon Coveney, said the report on Thursday.

According to the report, Charles and his wife Camilla chose Cork as their first leg of the two-day visit in Ireland because it was a city once visited by Queen Elizabeth II in 2011.

The couple first visited the famous English Market in Cork where they were warmly received by the city major Tony Fitzgerald and local residents, Xinhua reported.

They also attended a grand reception at Cork City Hall during which they and 150 invited local celebrities observed a minute's silence for the victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, a fire in an apartment building in London that claimed many lives a year ago.

Charles and Camilla also visited University College Cork before their visits to the National Maritime College of Ireland and the Naval Service Headquarters in Cork Harbour.

On Thursday night, the couple attended a banquet held in their honour at Crawford Art Gallery in the city. They will leave Cork on Friday for Kerry, a county in Ireland's southwest region, said the report.

Meghan Markle's Hair Blew Around in the Wind and People Are Actually Criticizing Her For It

Andrea Park Andrea Park 11 hours ago

If you thought people would stop piling ridiculous and wholly unnecessary criticism on Meghan Markle's style choices once she married Prince Harry and officially became the Duchess of Sussex, then it sounds like you've been living on a lovely planet far, far away from Earth. Here on this planet, it seems some people still can't stop scrutinizing and criticizing every inch of Markle's appearance, and their latest rude comments just might have set a new record for most ridiculous cyberbullying in the history of the Internet.

On Thursday, Markle accompanied Queen Elizabeth II on her private train for a one-on-one royal outing to Cheshire in Northern England. The pair looked quite happy to be spending time together, despite the fact that they were battling gale-force winds the entire time they were outside. According to the BBC, Storm Hector hit the U.K. on Thursday, bringing heavy rains to some parts of the region and strong winds of up to 74 miles per hour. Despite the countrywide phenomenon that caused lasting damage to many homes and trees, however, some people still took it upon themselves to shame Markle for — gasp! — letting her hair blow in the wind.

http://s3.uploads.ru/t/1BRP3.jpg
meghan markle
http://s3.uploads.ru/t/2phED.jpg

"You should have informed Meghan Cheshire is having high winds so she could have tied her hair back," one person replied to the official Kensington Palace Twitter account's photo of the duchess and queen together. "Agree. She looks sloppy with her hair loose...." another added. Fortunately, several others pointed out the obvious, tweeting back that, in fact, Markle cannot control the weather, and that "the wind blows hair, it happens."

Also, it's worth pointing out that when Markle does wear her hair up, she's usually criticized for that, too.

Queen Elizabeth II Always Travels With This Cakehttp://sh.uploads.ru/t/thI9J.gif

http://sg.uploads.ru/t/1vrZU.jpg
From Veranda

Forget those peanuts airlines hand out on flights. Queen Elizabeth II brings a much more regal delicacy with her when she travels. According to Darren McGrady, her former chef who cooked for her for 15 years, she prefers sweets. But not just any sugary treat, her famous Chocolate Biscuit Cake.

McGrady reveals when the Queen travels to Windsor Castle, she puts a senior chef on cake duty and has them ride in a train behind her with her favorite after-dinner dessert. But don't worry, she doesn't restrict herself to only enjoying her favorite cake when she's en route. "She'll take a small slice every day until eventually there is only one tiny piece, but you have to send that up, she wants to finish the whole of that cake," McGrady told RecipesPlus.

Here's how you can make it for yourself at home per McGrady's website, The Royal Chef.

Ingredients:

4 oz dark chocolate

4 oz granulated sugar

4 oz unsalted butter

1 egg

8 oz Rich tea biscuits

½ teaspoon butter for greasing

8 oz dark chocolate (for coating)

1 oz chocolate (for decoration)

Instructions:

Lightly grease a 6 inch by 2 ½ inch cake pan and place it on a sheet of parchment paper.
Break each of the biscuits into almond-size pieces by hand and set aside.
Mix butter and sugar in a bowl until the mixture starts to lighten.
Melt the 4 oz of chocolate and add to the butter mixture while constantly stirring.
Beat in the egg to the mixture.
Fold in the biscuit pieces until they are all coated with the chocolate mixture.
Spoon the mixture into the pan.
All the cake to chill for at least three hours.
Pour the melted chocolate over the cake and smooth the top and sides using a knife.
Allow it to set at room temperature.
Melt the remaining 1 oz of chocolate and use to decorate the top of the cake.

FYI, this was also the cake Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge requested for their wedding!

It wasn’t easy settling on the list of our favorite reads from the first half of the year.
But we’re in love with every book that made the cut, from Meg Wolitzer’s timely, entertaining novel about the growing pains of American feminism to John Branch’s charming (and fascinating) portrait of a family of Utah ranchers and rodeo riders.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry still have that newlywed glow.

The couple attended the wedding of Harry's cousin Celia McCorquodale to George Woodhouse in Stoke Rochford, England, on Saturday, both looking happier than ever. Celia is the daughter of Lady Sarah McCorquodale, the late Princess Diana's eldest sister.

Meghan stunned in a blue and white patterned Oscar de la Renta dress -- which retails for $5,490 -- which she paired with a white fascinator and white heels.

But the 36-year-old Duchess of Sussex's heels proved to be a bit of a challenge on the grass. In video obtained by The Daily Mail, Meghan avoided a little slip as she walked, thanks to Prince Harry keeping hold of her hand.

On Thursday, June 14, Meghan had her first solo outing with Queen Elizabeth II to three royal engagements in Cheshire, England, and royal expert Katie Nicholl explained to ET why the occasion was so special.

"It's unprecedented, actually, for the queen to take such a new member of the royal family on the royal train," Nicholl said. "She didn't do that for Kate [Middleton]. They traveled on a regular train, albeit in first class, when the queen took Kate on her first away day, and Kate had to wait nine months before the queen invited her away. So, Meghan has been taken away within her first month of being married, aboard the royal train, and I think you only needed to look at their body language and the warmth between the two of them to see just how warmly embraced Meghan has been by the queen."
http://sd.uploads.ru/t/rChEd.jpg

"I'm told by palace sources that it was the queen who personally invited Meghan to Cheshire," Nicholl added. "Meghan should feel very privileged because this is the queen extending an arm of friendship, but not just that. She is tutoring Meghan. She is mentoring Meghan. The queen, who has reigned over the U.K. and the commonwealth for 66 years, is making the time in her very busy schedule to say to Meghan, 'OK, I'm going to show you, personally, the royal ropes. I'm going to take you away for the day and show you how this works.'"

Prince Charles' Reported Nickname for Meghan Markle Is Kind of Awesome

It's fair to say that Meghan Markle is pretty resilient. How she handled the media attention after her relationship with Prince Harry went public was nothing short of graceful and brave. And Prince Charles has taken notice of Markle's toughness—so much so that he has a nickname for her based on it.

The royal patriarch reportedly calls his new daughter-in-law “Tungsten”—which is a type of metal—as a testament to the fact that she is “strong and unbending," according to the Daily Mail. "Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy," a source told the publication. "It's become a term of endearment.”

Strange? Sure. But also really, really sweet.

The New York Daily News reported that Markle helped inspire Prince Harry to quit smoking and live a healthier lifestyle, so the moniker certainly makes sense.

From the outside, it seems like Markle and Prince Charles have quite a close relationship. After Markle's own father was unable to attend the royal wedding, Prince Charles was tapped to walk her down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel, and was reportedly “terribly touched” to have had the honor. Markle was also said to have helped repair the elder prince’s relationship with his son. "Meghan met Charles and was bowled over by his charm," a source told Daily Mail. "She told Harry he was wonderful: welcoming, warm, hard-working, kind, and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.”

Prince Charles had equally flattering praise for Markle, according to Daily Mail: "She is so intelligent and so nice. She makes Harry happy. We could not like her more," he reportedly thinks.

How Meghan Markle Really Feels about Her Father’s Tell-All Interview

Diane Clehane,Best Life

http://s3.uploads.ru/t/69OL5.jpg

It’s been pretty much smooth sailing for Meghan Markle since she married Prince Harry and became Duchess of Sussex. She got high marks for her poise (and stylish wardrobe) for her first appearances with the royal family and was even asked by Queen Elizabeth II to join her on her first solo outing last week with Her Majesty. By comparison, that was something Kate Middleton didn’t do until she was with “The Firm” for a solid year.

Except for the rare misstep at the wedding this weekend of Princess Diana’s niece, Celia McCorquodale—where Meghan wore a floor-length, much-too-big Oscar de la Renta dress that clearly overwhelmed her, and also nearly took a tumble in sky-high stilettos—she’s been on solid ground.

Then her father, Thomas Markle, decided to give a television interview—for which he was paid “a few thousand pounds”—to Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain. The 73-year-old former lighting director unleashed a slew of embarrassing and outrageous remarks that have greatly upset his daughter—and the royal family—anew.

“Meghan does not understand why her father is doing all this,” said one friend. “She is trying so hard to fit in and adapt to this very new way of life and she was once again blindsided by a father who supposedly cares about her and doesn’t want to embarrass her. Given the media circus surrounding her father’s actions before the wedding, Meghan had hoped he would have learned his lesson. She is devastated over this.”

Among Thomas’s cringe-worthy comments: He gave his permission to Harry to marry his daughter during a phone call last December after exacting an inexplicable promise from the prince that he “will never raise [a] hand against my daughter.” He also claimed Harry confided in him that he is “open to Brexit” and said U.S. President Donald Trump should be “given a chance.”

Thomas, you may recall, threw his daughter’s wedding into chaos when it was revealed he staged fake paparazzi photos of himself seemingly getting ready to attend the royal wedding. He was confirmed to walk Meghan down the aisle, but after the scandal broke he backed out and then later said he wasn’t going because he’d had a heart attack the week before. In the interview, Thomas told Morgan that his daughter sobbed when he told her of his decision. At the time, it was too late to change The Order of Service for the ceremony, which had already been printed. Thomas’ name in the book given to the congregation was an embarrassing reminder of the events that had taken place in the days leading up to the wedding.

“That was a mistake,” he said Monday of his decision to do photos. He explained his decision by saying photos were an attempt to “change my image” adding, “I thought it would be a nice way of improving my look. Well, obviously that all went [wrong]. I feel bad about it. I apologized for it.”

Two days before the wedding, Meghan issued an unprecedented statement confirming her father would not attend. The bride-to-be walked unaccompanied down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel and Prince Charles met her half-way and escorted her to the altar. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was the only family member to attend the wedding. Thomas also said he was “jealous but grateful” to Charles for taking his place at the last minute. He also revealed the couple was “very forgiving” about the incident.

But that might not be the case this time.

The new explosive interview is sure to upset both Kensington and Buckingham Palaces because they were not told in advance, and the paid interview renews fears that Meghan’s family will be a continual source of embarrassment to the royal family and an unwelcome distraction. “The Palace is upset because they realize Mr. Markle is a loose cannon that cannot be controlled,” one royal insider told me. “There is potential political fallout over Mr. Markle’s claims about Prince Harry’s supposed views on two very controversial topics. The royal family generally believe silence is best when outrageous claims are made, but this time, their hand might be forced to issue a statement. This is deeply upsetting for the newlyweds and the Queen.”

Incredibly, Thomas seemed completely unaware that by continuing to talk to the press without first at least alerting his daughter, he is undoubtedly damaging their already strained relationship. “I would love to meet the Queen. I’ve had respect for that woman since I was a child,” he told Morgan. “I think she is one of the most incredible women in the world and I would love to meet her.”

Morgan has also ruined whatever relationship he had with the newly minted Duchess by conducting the interview, according to a friend of the former actress who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “Meghan had a casual friendship with Piers while she was on Suits,” one royal insider said. “She sent him advance DVDs of the show. They texted each other and [even] met up for a drink once. She was shocked when he talked to the press about how she supposedly ‘dropped him’ when she met Harry. They weren’t dating and were merely acquaintances. His remarks before the wedding to the press about her very much calls into question his motives for doing this interview.”

My palace source told me, “Harry did his best to prepare Meghan for what to expect from the media as a member of the royal family, but it’s impossible. Her experience as an actress on a popular nighttime soap pales in comparison. The knives are out and, sadly, most of them appear to be coming from her own family.”

The British royal family is about to have its first-ever gay wedding

http://s7.uploads.ru/t/HMNVK.jpg

Britain's first-ever same-sex royal marriage is set to take place this summer.
Queen Elizabeth's cousin Lord Ivar Mountbatten will wed partner James Coyle at his country estate in Devon.
Mountbatten's ex-wife Penny — who he divorced in 2011 after 17 years of marriage — will be walking him down the aisle, at the suggestion of their three daughters.

Another royal wedding is at hand, and this one is set to be more historic than the last. Hot on the trail of biracial divorcée Meghan Markle's marriage to Prince Harry, comes the British royal family's first-ever gay marriage.

Lord Ivar Mountbatten, cousin to Queen Elizabeth II, is set to marry his partner James Coyle on his country estate later this summer. The 55-year-old revealed the details of the upcoming ceremony to The Daily Mail, explaining how while he didn't feel the need to get married "because I've been there, done that, and have my wonderful children," he "really wanted to do it for James."

Mountbatten publicly came out as gay in 2016 and gay marriage became legal in the UK in 2014. Up until that point, only his wife Penny was aware of his sexual orientation. Though the two divorced in 2011 after 17 years of marriage, they remain friends and co-parents to their three daughters Ella, Alix, Luli.

Penny is so supportive of her ex and his new relationship that she is set to walk him down the aisle and give him away at his own wedding.

"It was the girls' idea. It makes me feel quite emotional. I'm really very touched," she told The Daily Mail, adding how she and Coyle "have got on from the first 10 seconds of meeting each other."

The girls are excited too. "When I mentioned it to our eldest daughter, Ella, she said, 'Oh Pap, it's not a big deal. It's so normal nowadays,'" explains Mountbatten. "Of course that generation, they're completely cool about the concept of this."

"Ivar is so much more relaxed these days," Penny said. "He's so much kinder. He probably wasn't even aware that by keeping his sexuality a secret it was really quite tormenting him. Now it's 'out,' he's a completely different person. Everybody says they've never seen him happier."

The ceremony is set to be be small and non-traditional; no first dance, no little tuxedoed men atop a cake, no white doves. The couple plans on hosting a small party afterwards but will "probably have cheese, instead of cake" — a choice I personally couldn't stan enough.

Lord Mountbatten is still in disbelief. "I never thought this would happen. It's brilliant, but I never thought I'd marry a man."

Queen Elizabeth II’s Cousin Will Reportedly Become the First Royal to Have a Gay Wedding
Jun 18 1:48 AM

http://s3.uploads.ru/t/sROF4.jpg

The British monarchy is changing… in a good way. The recent marriage between Prince Harry and his love, Meghan Markle, marked a historic moment as the first royal multicultural wedding. Now, the monarchy is about to reach another redefining milestone, as Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin, Lord Ivar Mountbatten, is set to become the first-ever royal to have a same-sex marriage.

Lord Mountbatten has already made history as the first member of the royal family to publicly come out back in 2016, when he announced that he was dating James Coyle. Now, the pair plans to make things official by tying the knot inside the private chapel on his country estate in Devon.

The soon-to-be groom says he and his partner won’t be recreating the same pomp and circumstance we saw surrounding the most recent royal nuptials, however. “We went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago and said: ‘We’re not doing that. We’re not cutting cakes. We’re not having a first dance,'” he revealed to The Daily Mail.

Instead, the twosome will  say “I do” in front of a few select family and friends and enjoy a party filled with “lovely food and really good music.”

In a surprising twist, it was also revealed that the great-great-great-grandson of Queen Victoria will be given away by his ex-wife and the mother of his three children, Penny Thompson.

Penny told the outlet it their three daughters, Ella, 22, Alix, 20, and Luli, 15, who came up with the non-traditional plan. “It was the girls’ idea,” she explained. “It makes me feel quite emotional. I’m really very touched.”

Lord Mountbatten and Coyle have received blessings from extended family, including Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, the Countess of Wessex. “Sophie and Edward know of our plans and are really excited for us,” he said. “Sadly they can’t come to the wedding. Their diaries are arranged months in advance and they’re not around, but they adore James. Everyone adores him.”

Congrats to the happy couple!

Princess Eugenie Channels the Ultimate Bridal Vibes While Attending the Royal Ascot

The Royal Ascot horse racing event, which kicked off earlier today, is panning out to be quite the royal fashion phenomenon. Exhibit A: Meghan Markle commanding attention in a black and white Givenchy look. Now, royal bride-to-be Princess Eugenie is also serving up some chic summer style at this famed occasion, giving us all the bridal feels.

Perhaps in honor of her upcoming October royal wedding to longtime boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, the 28-year-old royal opted for a head-to-toe white ensemble, complete with a short sleeve wrap dress and white hat. Talk about the ultimate engagement wardrobe. She accessorized with a tan and gold clutch.

Eugenie was accompanied her older sister, Princess Beatrice, who chose to sport a light blue, long sleeve embroidered frock with matching headpiece. The royal sisters also sat with Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, during the event's Royal Procession carriage ride.

http://s9.uploads.ru/t/f21ni.jpg
http://s8.uploads.ru/t/ivBY1.jpg
HELLO! royal correspondent, Emily Nash, took to Twitter to reveal the designers behind Eugenie's and Beatrice's outfits. According to Nash, Princess Eugenie has Osman, a London-based brand, to thank for her wedding-worthy frock. Her hat is by Emily London, her shoes Valentino, and her clutch is from luxury handbag designer M2Malletier. As for Beatrice, she's wearing a dress by British designer Claire Mischevani, a hat by Juliette Botterill, and Kurt Geiger shoes.

It seems this royal bride-to-be is rather enjoying her betrothed status through her wardrobe choices, which is also evidenced by a navy fascinator, emblazoned with a cursive "Love" decal that she donned at a Buckingham Palace garden party last month. We fully share Eugenie's engagement enthusiasm, and we can't wait to see this royal wedding pan out in just 115 days. Mark your calendars!

The Royal Ascot enforces a strict dress code, so it's no surprise that Meghan Markle relied on a classic color scheme for her debut at the exclusive horse race this week. Her black-and-white Givenchy ensemble (paired with a Philip Treacy fascinator) resembled Princess Diana's outfit at the same event back in 1985.

LONDON (AP) — Britain's royal palace says Prince Louis will be christened July 9 by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.

The third son of Prince William and his wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge was born April 23 and is fifth in line to the throne.

Kensington Palace said Wednesday that Louis will be baptized in a private service at the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace in London.

He will wear a cream lace and satin gown also used for the christenings of his elder siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. It is a replica of a christening gown made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter in 1841 and used for generations of royal babies until it wore out.

Kate Middleton and Prince William's third child, Prince Louis, is due to be christened on July 9, 2018.

http://sd.uploads.ru/t/7E9t6.jpg

But People is reporting that, out of all of the possible candidates for the role, it's unlikely that the Duchess of Sussex will be asked to be Prince Louis' godmother.

As a spokesperson for British bookmakers Ladbrokes said in a statement (via People), "As with George and Charlotte, [William and Kate] chose close and trusted friends and aides, rather than immediate family members, and the odds suggest that will be the same with little Prince Louis."

People also notes that Prince Harry isn't godfather to any of his brother's children, so it's unlikely that either the Duke or Duchess of Sussex will be asked to become a godparent on July 9.

Prince Louis's Christening Date Has a Special Meaning to the Royal Family

July 9th also marks an important anniversary.

http://s5.uploads.ru/t/4xoYQ.jpg

Prince William and Kate Middleton publicly announced the date of Prince Louis's royal christening today. The Archbishop of Canterbury will baptize their third child on July 9, 2018, at the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace, a statement from Kensington Palace confirmed.

The Monday ceremony will initiate the prince into the Church of England, but it also coincides with another important occasion for the royal family. The baby's great-grandparents Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip announced their engagement on July 9, 1947 — exactly 71 years earlier.

http://s5.uploads.ru/t/vHthI.jpg

Their marriage never came as given. Princess Elizabeth fought to marry her longtime sweetheart, who was seen as a potentially problematic match. The pair first met eight years earlier when her family toured the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth and afterwards began exchanging letters. The heir presumptive was just 13 at the time — five years younger than the naval cadet — but quickly fell in love.

Prince Philip had descended from Greek and Danish royalty, but his relatives were exiled from Greece when he was just an infant. His lack of financial standing and place of birth would undoubtedly stir up controversy, so the suitor first secretly proposed in Scotland in 1946.

Although his fiancée quickly agreed, her father King George had the couple wait a year to publicly announce their engagement. Prince Philip renounced his foreign titles, converted to Anglicanism, and took the British royal family's surname Mountbatten in order to marry the future Queen of England.

By the time they announced their engagement, Princess Elizabeth was 21. The couple wed six months later on November 20, 1947 in Westminster Abbey in London, and the rest is history. They've since produced four children, eight grandchildren, and now six great-grandchildren.

Whether the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge intentionally chose this historic date or not, the christening of Prince Louis on July 9th makes this an especially meaningful day to the royal family.

Prince Louis Is to Emerge Back Into the Spotlight at His Christening. Here's What to Expect

http://sg.uploads.ru/t/cMhg1.jpg
It will be in the same chapel as Prince George's christening

Since his birth on April 23, young Prince Louis of Cambridge has stayed mostly (and understandably) out of the spotlight. But on July 9, he’ll be the star of the show, as Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge have announced that’s the date for the official christening of their third child.

Following in the tradition of all the other royal children — including his older brother Prince George and Princess Charlotte — Prince Louis will be welcomed into the Church of England at the ceremony, presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury at the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace in London. His godparents will also be announced at the event. Here’s what to expect.

When is the christening?

It’s set to take place on Monday, July 9, according to a statement from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released via the palace. No further details of timing have been shared; Princess Charlotte’s took place at 4:30 p.m. in England, however, so it’s likely it will be an afternoon event.

Where is the christening?

The christening will take place at the Chapel Royal in St. James’s Palace in London. It’s the same spot that Prince George had his big day — although Princess Charlotte’s was at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham. The Chapel Royal has a special tie to Prince William and his family, as it’s where his late mother’s coffin was held for a week before her funeral, and where Kate Middleton received communion just prior to her own royal wedding.

What is a christening?

A christening is a baptism in the tradition of the Church of England, in which the child is anointed with holy water and welcomed into the religious tradition.

Who is performing the christening?

Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, will be doing the honors of performing the christening. Welby recently had another important role for the royal family: he also presided over the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle in May. And he’s got some practice at this particular event, as he christened both Prince George and Princess Charlotte, too.

Who will be at the christening?

Prince Louis’s parents Prince William and Kate Middleton will of course be in attendance, most likely joined by Prince George and Princess Charlotte, marking the first official public outing of their whole family since Louis’s birth. The Queen herself also came to the other siblings’ christenings, so it’s likely she’ll come to this one as well; Prince Louis is now fifth in line to the throne, after all. If he is up to it, Prince Philip may join her, and we can expect Prince Louis’s grandfather Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall to also be there for the special moment.

As for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the couple of the moment? They’re scheduled to be in Ireland for an official royal visit on July 10 and 11, so it remains to be seen if they’ll be able to drop by the christening the day before.

Bishop who married Prince Harry to Meghan Markle reveals moment he 'knew' they love each other

The royal wedding between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry was full of memorable moments, but it was the couple’s true love that will stick with Bishop Michael Curry.

Although Curry, the presiding bishop and primate of the Episcopal Church, didn’t know the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before delivering a sermon at the royal wedding on May 19, he said it didn’t take him long to realise they were truly in love - as it was evident in the way they looked at each other.

"Once I realised this was really happening, it was a real blessing to be a part of that. Because what they did, you could see it. They actually love each other. They really do," he told Us Weekly. "They look at each other like they love each other. I remember thinking after the sermon, once I preached the sermon, I said: 'These two people love each other.’ They look at each other, and their love brought the rest of us together."

It was this love - capable of bringing countries and people together - that influenced Curry’s impressive 14-minute sermon, where he discussed the power and potential of love.

“Their love for each other brought two countries together, in Great Britain and the United States. They brought people of different religious perspectives and different religions together. They brought people of different political persuasions, people of different sexual orientations, people of different classes, people of different races, people of different nations,” he said. “Their love, even if it was just for a few moments, showed us the power of what unselfish love that gives itself to another can actually do.”

And despite feeling slight pressure over his important role, Curry said he didn’t feel nervous once he began talking - “once I got up, I became a parish priest again,” he said.

Bishop Curry has previously discussed the invitation to speak at the royal wedding, which he’d at first assumed was an April Fool’s joke.

As for the length of the notable sermon, Curry said he’d originally aimed for six or seven minutes, but got carried away.

“When I sat down from the sermon I remember thinking to myself: ‘I hope that was okay,’” he revealed on Good Morning Britain.

Now that Meghan Markle is officially part of the British royal family, she's being given more and more responsibility.

Following her solo outing with the Queen earlier this month, it's now being reported that Meghan is about to take over one of Queen Elizabeth's royal duties.

According to The Express, Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex "will welcome those in the Queen's Young Leaders programme to Buckingham Palace this summer, continuing the role started by the Queen during her lifetime of service to the Commonwealth nations."

While the Queen is taking a step back from her role in the Queen's Young Leaders programme, it's clear that she's leaving in very capable hands.

Prince Harry is already the patron of the Queen's Young Leaders, a role that he took on in 2018. The programme aims to recognize the work of exceptional young people and the work that they do within the Commonwealth nations.

Taking on his new job in April 2018, Prince Harry said (via The Daily Mail), "In my new role I will work to support The Queen, my father The Prince of Wales, and my brother William, all of whom know that young people are the answer to the challenges of today."

At the time, he made it clear that he wanted Meghan to join him, saying, "I am also incredibly grateful that the woman I am about to marry, Meghan, will be joining me in this work, of which she too is hugely excited to take part in."
